Finding and matching the right colours for your kitchen can be difficult.
Make choices depending on the reason you are renovating.
Renovating to sell. –
Choose wisely to cater for the large majority of potential buyers. For instance, white can be a good choice here with maybe an accent colour to give a little character. But remember not to alienate to many buyers with your choice of colour. In other words, too dramatic could potentially mean a no sale. Therefore a timeless look could be more beneficial than a trending colour palette.
Renovating for tenants to move in. –
Durability is the key here. For example, what is easy for the tenant to keep clean, tidy and will still look good for the next tenant. Dark Matt colours on your cabinetry could show all the greasy fingerprints, so a light cabinetry can work well with a darker benchtop. If choosing a laminate top, matt is a good choice, as there could be a few scratches over time and they wont show half as much as a gloss laminate benchtop.
Renovating for your long time family home. –
Choose what ever you like! The world is your oyster. The most important thing to think of is the mood you are trying to create in your new renovated space. For example, if you would like a calm space choose calming colours. If you would like to make a statement use dramatic colours. Think of your whole home. The floor coverings, furniture pieces you love and lighting that surrounds your space. In addition, if you only have a small space to work in don’t go too dark as this will make your space seem smaller.
